Digital Electronic Engineer
We are currently looking for an effective and proactive engineer to fill a position in digital electronic within our organization. The employee will have to design and develop a variety of digital sub-systems, mainly composed of FPGAs and microprocessors to be integrated into new products, instruments and systems for improved performance under R & D, prototyping and production projects.
Specifically, the candidate will have the following tasks:
- Perform programming FPGAs circuits (typically in VHDL on Xilinx) and embedded software on a microprocessor (typically ARMTemps Real).
- Perform the calibration procedures and tests of various systems and determine the facilities required to achieve each of these activities. Valid those procedures by conducting the first productions.
- Analyze alternative concepts to find the best compromise performance / costs at each step of the R & D process.
- Establish quality control criteria of components and services provided by subcontractors.
- Work closely with all the R & D in the overall design of products including component design, calibration, modeling of system performance, drawings preparation and modules / components testing.
- Write technical documentation (design, assembly, maintenance and repair) in accordance with the internal R & D process.
- Conduct research, evaluate and use new technologies and electronic components that may have an impact on current and future projects. This includes technology analysis used in our competitor products.
You will also be required to perform any other task related to this position.
Possessing a background in computer or electrical engineering and some relevant experience, the person must master electronics digital design, design of PLD / FPGA HDL, preferably VHDL, programming in C, C + + or Assembler (ARM) . In addition, the person must be able to perform the following tasks: perform suites of compilers and GNU tools, analysis and understanding of various technical specifications (protocols, standards), estimate completion and development times, deliver on time and according to budgets.
